This Regulatory client had two key staff poached from their practice recently and while disappointing, it creates two great opportunities:

1 x full time permanent role
1 x full time fixed term contract for 12 months

We are seeking two Senior Legal Advisors to provide expert legal support across the organisation, manage litigation, contribute to law reform, and mentor junior lawyers.  You’ll play a key role in supporting the Board, staff, and Complaint Assessment Committees, while helping the employer to meet their statutory obligations and reduce legal risk.

The sector that our client regulates has had increased complaints regarding professional conduct and as my client said "poor conduct makes for very interesting work".  

About the team

This well regarded team of 7 needs some additional resource.  In their sector, the recession has created the need for further support in the Legal Services team.  A higher than usual number of complaints and investigations have meant the client is replacing one permanent staff member and recruiting someone else on a Fixed Term contract for 12 months.  This is a team with good culture and an inclusive and collaborative team environment.

What you’ll bring:

  • LLB and current practicing certificate

  • 5–7 years’ PQE

  • Strong advisory skills and an interest in litigation

  • Knowledge of regulatory/compliance environments

  • Ability to lead, coach and support legal colleagues

  • Practical understanding of legislation and codes
