People & Culture Business Partner

$135,000 plus depending on experience | Seaview, Wellington

We’re looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to support approximately 500 employees across two key operational sites - with a home base at our clients Seaview location in Wellington (a team of 60 in that office).
In this hands-on and rewarding role, you’ll be part of a 21-strong national P&C team that includes Business Partners, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition. You'll provide strategic and day-to-day HR support, with a strong focus on employee relations (ER) - managing around 20 ER cases per month, including disciplinary, performance, and absenteeism matters. External legal support is available when required.
Day to day will also include Advisory support to Managers across the Lower North Island and all of the South Island.  Advisory will include Training delivery to hiring managers.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 8-10 years’ experience in a senior HR/P&C Business Partner role.

  • Strong working knowledge of NZ employment legislation.

  • Proven ER experience - confident handling complex cases.

  • Background in operational or industrial environments is ideal.

  • Ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Flexibility to travel 2-3 times per month across your region (including 6-monthly Auckland team catchups).
